Intergenerational England

Intergenerational England (IE) is a pioneering charitable organisation dedicated to uniting public, voluntary, and private sectors in the fight against ageism and age segregation. Our mission is to build stronger, more inclusive communities that thrive across generations, now and in the future.  We aim to embed intergenerational practices across all sectors by advocating for policies and initiatives that bridge age-based divides, fostering a cohesive and empathetic society.

At Intergenerational England, we advocate for systemic change by actively engaging with policymakers, organisations, and communities to integrate intergenerational thinking into everyday life.

Our approach addresses vital sectors, including the NHS, housing, social care, transport, education, and both governmental and non-governmental bodies, ensuring that intergenerational principles are woven into the fabric of society

Our 3 Pillars Of Focus

We are focussed on bridging the gap between practice and policy and have launched dedicated taskforces made up of cross sector experts and representatives. We will be drawing on global and national learning, developing innovative research, advocacy campaigns and programmes to embed an ethos of Intergenerational understanding.

Kay Allen
Campaign Director for Age Irrelevance

“Society needs a new life narrative that finds the positive and optimism to create a society that enjoys the benefits of shared learning, exchange of ideas and a renewed sense of belonging – one not confined by perceived age silos – rather a society bound by commonality and shared life paths.  One that connects us all to our past and our future. Intergenerational England is an Age Irrelevance Change Maker determined to unleash the power of intergenerational connections.”
